How to Join a Google Meet from Google Classroom

Here are directions for students in the EVSC on how to join a Google Meet session from Google Classroom.

These directions work best using the Chrome browser on any device.  If you’re using an iPad, please use the Google Classroom and Google Meet iPad apps.

1). Select a class in Google Classroom.

2). Select the Meet link in the class banner.

3). If you see this message, the teacher has not yet started the meeting.  Select Reload to refresh the page.  If this doesn’t work after a few attempts, email your teacher.

Click Reload to refresh the page.

4). Click Dismiss on the window in the middle.

5). Select Allow to receive Meet Notifications.

6). Click Allow to enable your microphone and webcam.

7). Click Join Now when you’re ready to join the meeting.  

NOTE: Be sure to mute your microphone before entering the room.  Only unmute your microphone when your teacher gives you permission.

Click "Join Now" when you're ready to join the meeting.
